Crafterpreneur Workshop Series with Ali Usman

Where Craft Becomes a Business

Make something with your hands, then learn how to sell it. The Crafterpreneur Workshop Series at Alliance Française de Karachi turns paper craft into a first lesson in entrepreneurship. Across three hands-on Saturday sessions each month, participants design finished products and learn the thinking behind a small creative business: idea to product, costing and pricing, branding, and how to reach customers. It is built for curious makers of every age, from children taking their first step into enterprise to adults building a side income.

Led by Ali Usman, educator, trainer, and paper-craft artist, each monthly theme ends with a set of market-ready pieces and a simple business plan you build yourself.

Meet the Instructor: Ali Usman

Ali Usman is a Karachi-based educator, trainer, and paper-craft artist, and Deputy Director at the Training Unit of the Sindh Education Foundation. His work spans paper jewellery, gift items, greeting and invitation cards, and flower arrangements, and he has shown and sold his handmade products at exhibitions across the city. His teaching carries one clear belief: craft can be a powerful way to build an entrepreneurial mindset in children and adults alike. Through Crafterpreneur, he guides participants from a blank sheet of paper to a product with real market value..

How the Series Work

Crafterpreneur runs on Saturdays in a rolling monthly format. Each theme is a block of 3 Saturday sessions, and one fee covers the full month. Every Saturday runs two separate batches by age:

  • Children, ages 10 to 16: 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM

  • Adults, 17 and above: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Every session is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and capped at 15 to 20 participants for close attention. Each participant receives a complete product-making kit and a simple, activity-based marketing and pricing guide.
