Goût de France Comes to Karachi: A Week of French Cuisine

Once a year, kitchens around the world cook to the same idea. Goût de France, also known as Good France, is France’s global celebration of French cuisine, and in 2026 it arrives in Karachi. Hosted by Alliance Française de Karachi with the support of the Embassy of France in Pakistan, it brings French flavour to the city through a special launch and a full week of French dining.

What is Goût de France?

Goût de France is a worldwide event in which chefs across dozens of countries serve French-inspired menus at the same moment, in a shared tribute to French food culture. French gastronomy is recognised by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage, and this celebration carries that spirit beyond France’s borders. For Karachi, it is a chance to taste that tradition without leaving the city.

A French chef in the city

At the heart of the Karachi edition is visiting French chef Maxime Delaboudinière, invited to Pakistan by the Embassy of France for the occasion. The celebration opens with a launch at Avari Towers on 31 October 2026, where Chef Maxime presents a menu built around classic French technique and seasonal ingredients. The launch is by invitation, and interested guests can contact Avari Towers directly.

French Gastronomy Week, 1 to 8 November

This is where the whole city is invited in. From 1 to 8 November, partner restaurants across Karachi serve special French-inspired set menus as part of French Gastronomy Week. You do not need an invitation and you do not need to speak a word of French. You simply book a table, sit down, and taste what French cooking looks like when it meets a Karachi table. The full list of participating restaurants will be shared soon.

Food as cultural exchange

At Alliance Française de Karachi, culture is not only language, film and art. It is also what ends up on the plate. Food is one of the easiest and warmest ways to meet another culture, and French Gastronomy Week turns the whole city into the venue. It is French cuisine in Karachi, cooked with local produce, shared with local diners.

Join the celebration

Goût de France is a reminder that the best cultural exchange often happens over a good meal.
