DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the French language skills and competency of candidates from outside France. Kids and teenagers can take the DELF Prim (ages 8–12) or the DELF Juniors (ages 13+) exams. DELF and DALF certificates are valid for life.

Structure: DELF and DALF are available at six levels corresponding to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2. For each level, the exam is divided into 4 parts: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. A mark of at least 50/100 is required in order to be awarded the diploma.
