‘In Conversation with Legends – History in Session’ is based on Urdu interviews conducted by Mr. Khurram Sohail and edited / translated by Miss Afrah Jamal. It showcases 50 Pakistani’s including historians, musicians, critics, playwrights, poets, authors, humanitarians, sportsmen and media personalities.
The names will be familiar – they are part of our archives, their candid worldview however was never added to the national narrative. This document is meant to serve as an introduction to the power-players that put Pakistan on the map and helped lay down its cultural /artistic foundations.
The book launch coincides with Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day and celebrates the sentinels of Pakistan’s national heritage and the incredible legacy they leave behind. The book was 3 years in the making and has been published by Paramount Books. It is now available nationwide.
Khurram Sohail is an author / journalist / critic who has worked for Dawn Urdu online edition, Daily Express, Daily Duniya, Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Weekly Nigar and different online websites. He is a recognizable name in Broadcasting and has spent 5 years with Radio Pakistan and FM 101 (Karachi). He was associated with local theater as a director and writes on literature, Film, Culture, art etc.

Afrah Jamal is a Freelance Columnist, former Editor Social Pages (2006) who reviewed books for Daily Times (Lahore) from 2009 onward and has written on a variety of subjects for different publications including HILAL (Islamabad), SHE Magazine, Defence Journal, and Economic Affairs.
She has also served as a freelance Book Editor, Movie Critic, Copywriter (ENGRO), Roving Lifestyle Correspondent and temporary Marketing Consultant for a Karachi based Italian firm - BRC Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. She now provides regular commentary on the political climate & military matters and tweets as @Afrahjh.
