JHULELAL AT THE CROSSROADS
The presentation aims at introducing the first achievements of Udero Lal Research Project (ULRP) coordinated by Michel BOIVIN (Center for South Asian Studies, CNRS-EHESS).
In 2016, the ULRP has completed two fieldworks with the main purpose of collection data for the study of the sacred figure of Jhulelal, aka Udero Lal, Shaikh Tahir, or Khwajah Khizr. His main durbar located in the village of Udero Lal, about 50 kms north of Hyderabad, is shared by Muslims and Hindus.
Involving different fields such as history, anthropology and architecture, the project address the main issue through with processes a sacred site shared by different religious communities in 21th Century Pakistan.
