(Arq) is a fete to this fanciful and colourful existence of women hood. This is not about only filling colours to these surroundings but to celebrate the essence of experiences related with their existence. It’s more than admiring the female figure; in fact this show is about justifying every essence of this being given to us with several experiences collectively. This fragile being has proved herself through many aspects of strength, valiant, bravery and intrepidity against known and unknown.
In connection with International Women’s day, all female artists have depicted many aspects of their entity of being a woman and a human being. This collection of work includes conventional and non-conventional mediums including video installations and performances. There is a variety in ways of expressions in the form of sculptures and mix media.
Participating artists for this show are Joshinder Chaggar, Sara Pagganwala, Shahana Afaq, Fatema Beeka, Noori Berdi, Amna Gull, Nausheen Ishtiaq, Sana Nezam, Raheela Abro, Anam Rani, Laiba Baig , Noreen Ali and Baakh Pirzada. This has been a pleasure working with all these females for this show.
The contemporary and spacious premises of Alliance Francaise have given the liberty of bringing this show alive, curated by Mehreen Hasmi. We are very thankful to Sharmila Sahebah Faruqui, (Minister of Culture & Tourism Department, Government of Sindh) and Culture & Tourism Department, Government of Sindh for hosting this show in regards of International Women’s Day.
