François Struzik is photojournalist. He works for press magazines and international organizations such as UNICEF, WORLD FOOD Program, Terre des hommes etc …
Women and children rights, migration, acess to health, education or water, this are exemples of issues his work deals with… Human or natural disasters his photographs want to be a witness at breast height.
His reports led him to frequently visit the Muslim world, from Maghreb to the Idian subcontinent. The frontal encounter wuth this other culture during his first story in Pakistan led him to return, to question.
Among his personal projects, he made a long-term photographic work on popular soufismes - mystical currents of Islam where song and poetry are very important - throughout the Muslim world.
This exhibition is a long journey in a protean cultural space, diverse and contradictory. Kosovo, Morocco, India, Kashmir, Bangladesh ... François Struzik takes us within rituals, pieces of life, meeting others. His eyes search the deeply human side rather than exotic or difference. The clarity of the Himalayan skies at dark slums, to tears of joy, hope fatalism without taboos or false promise, photographs of François Struzik immerse us in his journey to Islam.
