by the Alliance Française Foundation
Opening: Thursday 17th December - 6:30 pm
Till December 26 - 10:00 am/7:00 pm
- Each year since 2010, the Alliance Française Foundation organizes a big photography competition within the world-wide network of Alliance française, in partnership with the Courrier International magazine . Its objective is to showcase the richness and diversity of the network of 800 Alliance Française around the world and to give a chance to amateur photographers to get greater exposure through exhibitions in Paris and around the world.
Alliance Française are invited to participate in this competition by organizing a local competition in their respective countries for selecting a winner for each Alliance. The selected photographs are then evaluated by a jury nominated by the Alliance Française Foundation
In convergence with the XXI Conference on climate change (Climate Paris 2015) hosted by France in December 2015, the Alliance Française Foundation proposed the following theme for its 5th International photography competition:
under the patronage of Yann Arthus Bertrand
The amateur photography candidates all around the world were invited to present works illustrating the problems faced in their respective countries concerning the real or perceived climate change, its impact on the everyday life and official or private solutions put in place or proposed for fighting against its harmful effects.
105 Alliance Française of different countries participated in this competition. The Paris jury which met on 22 June 2015, selected 44 best photographs.
